Happy Non-Binary Awareness Week to all our beloved enbies and allies! For those unaware, non-binary is an umbrella term for gender identities that don’t fit strictly within the categories of “male” or “female.” This includes those that blend masculine and feminine identities and those who are neither. As gender is a spectrum there are limitless variations in both expression and identity. Some common non-binary identities are genderqueer, agender, bigender, third gender, and genderfluid. Preferred pronouns vary between individuals. While they/them is common best practice to ask if you aren’t sure of a person’s pronouns. Best way to celebrate this esteemed day is to listen and learn from non-binary experiences and advocate for visibility and equality in your community! And be sure to hug your favorite enby!
