Bisexual+ Awareness Day
Happy Bisexual+ Awareness Day! Also known as Bisexual Pride Day, Celebrate Bisexuality Day, Bi Visibility Day and more. The date highlights bisexuality and the challenges posed by biphobia and bisexual erasure, as well as celebrating the work of a growing number of local, national and international organisations around the world which champion bisexual visibility and equality. It was first marked in 1999 and recognition has grown greatly in recent years. It is a celebration in particular of bi identity but also of other identities under the “bi+ umbrella” like pansexual, polysexual and omnisexual. Being bisexual simply means being attracted to more than one gender regardless of one’s current partner or dating history. Celebrate this day by showing your pride in your bisexual identity or of those close to you. Seek out bisexual creators and authors and amplify their voices. Visibly show your support with positive messages and expressions to show that the world we live in is accepting and supportive.
