Vixis and Pixel headed to vend in Falls Creek Falls National Park at WOODSFLOCK this past weekend. Pawstar was vending 3 shows this weekend so we ended up taking the eldest of the fleet 21 year BIGPAW! We totally got to hit up a Bucees on the way there and get some tasty snacks and check out the spring merch!
Highly recommended Bucees SNAX: brisket sammy, philly cheesesteak purrito, beaver nuggets, white cheddar beaver nugget puffs, sweet and savory trailmix and my new favorite fountain drink only at Bucees coconut soda mixed with blue cream soda. I made it dirty and added a little bit of creamer.
We ended up having to drive across winding curving country roads into the mountains to get to our hotel for the weekend. Some with 8% steep mountains grades which was super not fun but Bigpaw made it!
Fri morning we trekked back up the mountain and into Fall Creek Falls State Park. Arrived right on time for woodflock setup. The dealer den was in a structure called The Roost, with the camp grounds nestled up in higher portion of the grounds for those who were actually sleeping outside. The area actually had a gate that woodsflock staffed to keep anyone not attending the con out of the grounds all weekend.
Each night we left the campground and went back to our hotel in Dunlap, TN. First night dinner was a quick heat up of macaroni/mash potato tubs from walmart and a bag oh broccoli. Super quick and easy if you only have a microwave in your hotel room. Each morning we ate at super affordable breakfast at the restaurant simply called dunlap restaurant in walking distance from our hotel. Sat Dinner was from Pizza King in dunlap that had a great by one get one pizza deal....like it was such a great deal got a white pizza and classic pepperoni. Another local place to mention would be King Doughnuts!
Saturday we got to watch the possum hour from our dealer den window with Mr. Gremlin the possum! Hes not even 1 year old yet but very cute! He ate eggs and oats while everyone learned about his opossum traits.
Sunday got to watch the group photo, spied on some snakes and their handlers and got to explore one of the trails leading to a dam in the park!
Mr. Gremlin came in and said hi before his retirement party and the staff brought all the dealers cups of his raspberry cake. I got to compare out possum keychain tail to his actual tail!
We tore down within and hour sunday afternoon and made the country hill drive again this time during the daytime so it wasnt quite as hectic.
Stopped in Bowling Green, KY for the night with the remainder driving time the next day to be 6hrs. Unleashed my secret plan in the morning to stop at Bucees again! Specifically to nab that vapor wave beaver tanktop and to finally try their breakfast! Specifically the biscuit and egg sammie and the brisket egg purrito. The eggs are what they are known for and they did not disappoint. Creamy scrambled eggs!!
We made it back to wisconsin around 1pm monday no real hiccups on the way back. Bigpaw made the 18hr total trip safely with our crew. Happy Tails all around ='.'=
