Pawstar returned to Anime Detour after a couple year hiatus due to conflicting con schedules. We were happy to help sponsor their VIP Program with providing each member their very own Orange mini fox tail! Pawstar Employees were happy to know that the con suit for staffers and vendors was still fully operational- rarely cons do this for dealers as well. They provided daily meals snacks beverages and a quiet place to take a break.
We stayed at the Embassy Suites 15 min from Downtown in bloomington near the Mall of America- Perks about Embassy Suites when they are within our budget to stay at:
1. Free evening reception with unlimited snacks, fountain drinks and 2 adult beverages.
2. Free Breakfast Buffet with a custom made to order Omelet Station!
3. Beautiful Atrium seating in the center of the hotel.
4. Rooms are are sectioned into separate living room with separate bedroom and comes with and a counter with microwave and fridge. If you need to spread out from you roomates its a great option because your basically getting two separate rooms for the price of one.
5. Open air parking for large vehicles! In this case we took our biggest GIGAPAW Van and parked with no problem.
6. Honorable mention the pools are always very pretty and hours are 6am-10pm, which i always mean togo but never get too ='.'=
Dinner plans!
Thurs night I managed to make things around the room turned into a base for a charcuterie Board- Cheese included: Blood Orange Artigiano Cheese, Port Cheese, Blueberry Artigiano cheese, swiss and colby. We also had blueberries, Peppered Sausage with Artisan Crackers and a big owl bowl of nuts we got from the evening reception. Darkfox made tiny non alcoholic drinks with san pelligrino and fruits.Friday Night! Saw a tik tok that cheesy bites pizza was back from Pizza hut with a ranch flight! So caved and got that- vegetarian cheese only for me and Pixel, and Darkfox and kuro got the meats with some pineapples and chicken wings. The ranch flight was AMAZING! Reg ranch, pepperoni ranch and chipotle ranch.
Saturday Night. Was eyeing yet more cheese from the bar menu, from Wisconsin so cheese curds is always a yes. But these ones came with a rasberry sauce! Pixel and I had Draft Beer Hug Beer with the cheesecurds and Darkfox and kuro joined having a pork-loin with asparagus and the bartender made them Melon Ball drinks!
Evening Entertainment! We played Games every night- Darkfox, Pixel and Kuro started with Magick the gathering, then I joined in with Nightcage and highly recommend BLOKUS!!
Overall it was super fun to return to Anime Detour, we ended the weekend by loading out in a beautiful snowfall(which im sure I was the only one to love, Im an Arctic cat!). Had to drive through basically a snow storm from Minnesota back to mid Wisconsin then hit rain on our way back to pleasant prairie. Total Kwik Trips stopped at for the weekend...4! Its a Wisconsin thing LOL
