Pawstar Parade Sign-up 2025

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants, it is essential to adhere to the following guidelines for the upcoming parade event. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. All participants are required to arrive at the designated meet-up location by 1:30 PM. However, to avoid congestion , it is advisable to arrive around or after 12 PM. The parade will commence promptly at 2:00 PM. It is important to note that early arrivals to the meet-up site are discouraged. The weather conditions can be quite warm, and shade may not be readily available. To stay hydrated, water will be provided on-site by Pawstar. Participants are encouraged to bring their own camping chairs and umbrellas for comfort while waiting for the parade to begin.

Once the parade spot location is confirmed, updates will be communicated through the Pawstar Discord channel and via email. Participants should look for a purple tent and the Pawstar MEGAPAW VAN, where they will be greeted by two of the owners, Vixis and Kitsune Noir. Additionally, we will be handing out fun goodies as we walk, and waving pride flags (feel free to bring your own as well)

  • Arrival Time: June 8th between noon and 1:30pm
  • Meet Up Location: Around 2nd Street between Scott St and Lapham Blvd. We will post specifics in the Discord once we find our spot.
  • Parade Length: Aprox. 2 hours. We expect to be done between 4pm and 5pm (depends on where we are in line)

Requirements;

  • Must be 18 years or older, or accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Must arrive on time for the event (NO later than 1:30PM). Once we are moving the event will not allow anyone additional to join.
  • Please wear shoes (or fur feet) that you can comfortably walk in for the entire parade. If you have any type of medical condition that may affect your ability to walk in the full parade, please let us know.
  • Pawstar does not tolerate any form of hate speech or discrimination. We have a zero tolerance policy. 

 

The official rules pasted by the parade organizers;


The staging area for entrants is located on 2nd Street between Scott St and Lapham Blvd. Participants should check in/enter the staging area at 2nd Street and Lapham Blvd.There will be people to direct you
around in case you get lost. Parade volunteers will be wearing white
shirts with the parade logo on the back and parade officials will be
wearing black vests with "official" on the back. Large, motorized units are advised to have someone on both sides of the unit to guide them and ensure that no spectators are in the way. At no time shall any units endanger the safety of themselves, other units or spectators. Units
agree to follow the direction of the Milwaukee Pride Parade Officials, Milwaukee Pride Parade Security, and the Milwaukee Police Department., Entrants are responsible for the set-up and clean up of their unit before and
after the parade.
Overhand throwing of objects IS NOT PERMITTED. Please underhand throw
so as not to injure any spectators. All
registered units must be in their designated line-up position and
ready by 1:45 PM. Entrance to the staging area starts at 10AM. If you
have a float and need more time to set up, please contact us so we
can plan for an earlier time. Any
parade unit in violation of the above rules and regulations will be
ejected from the Parade.

Reminder
of Parade Rules~

All organizations, groups, vehicles, and the like shall be considered
"units". All units will respect the rights of other units
to take place in the parade. Handouts or giveaways must be family
friendly.

NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR DRUGS! Consumption of alcoholic beverages or
drugs during the lineup, or actual Parade is immediate grounds for
expulsion from the event.,

No animals without prior permission. Dogs and cats are exempted but must
be on a leash.,

No signs, banners, groups promoting or showing profanity, sex acts or
obscene material.,

All state and local ordinances regarding nudity will be strictly
enforced. All costumes and other apparel worn in the parade must
comply with the Obscenity Statutes of the State of Wisconsin and the
public decency ordinances of the City of Milwaukee. No Jock Straps,
G-strings, bras, or panties will be permitted to appear in the
parade. No see-through clothing will be permitted, for example: any
person wearing chaps will be required to have jeans or other suitable
attire under such chaps to prevent public viewing of parts of the
anatomy which violates Wisconsin obscenity laws. All decisions as to
the propriety of attire to be worn in the parade will be made by the
parade officials.,

It is the responsibility of the entrant to remove units that become
disabled immediately. If you are unsure about your vehicle, plan for
towing needs. Any fees associated with towing/repair, or tickets
issued by law enforcement agencies for abandoned vehicles, shall be
the responsibility of the entrant. Milwaukee Pride Parade is not
responsible for any damage to any unit before, during, or after the
parade.
