Mr. Raccoon and Goat were super excited to be back in Reno, NV for BLFC at the Grand Sierra Resort. It’s a pretty unique con since the whole thing was held inside a huge casino resort, and it ran in the middle of the week (for now anyway). Even with that it was totally worth the trip out to Reno.

This year we were extra excited because we got to try a brand new display type. Normally we organize the Pawstar booth by product type and everything is pretty segmented, but this time we organized the whole booth by color only. Tails, ears, paws, all of it grouped into one big rainbow. It was really fun to create...but took waaay longer to set up than usual. Tell us in the comments which way you like better, by product or by color.

For the most part we stayed inside the hotel the whole time because there was just so much to do. We vended in both the day and night markets, which was a blast... and made a sleepy Raccoon. If you go we highly recommend checking out the BLFC game room, the train area (yes there were trains), and the musical guests (and all the other stuff), they were amazing. A couple notes for anyone planning a trip, most of the businesses inside the resort took both cash and card but a few were card only depending on the time, so it’s good to have both on you. Also plan to pay a premium for food and drinks since you’re at a resort, we definitely did.
After the con wrapped up we drove around Reno for a bit. If you’re a fan of old school casino decor and fun tacky promotions you’ll have a blast, we sure did. We don’t gamble but we were big fans of everything else the casinos had going on. As a city it felt way more low key than Vegas, but there were still some cool shows and restaurants to check out. One thing that surprised us was how spread out the casinos were, so don’t plan on walking between most of them. We were glad we had BIGPAW.
